Prakash Slim is an internationally renowned country blues artist from Nepal, honored as a Blues Ambassador and Keeper of the Music Tradition. Born in a small Nepali village, his father died when he was young, leaving his mother to raise three children alone. He started hearing old blues records as a child and first played music by drumming on gallon water jugs. Due to his difficult childhood in dire poverty, he became a died-in-the-wool bluesman. For over twelve years he played lead, rhythm, bass, and vocals for various bands throughout Nepal. After completing serious blues research with the Mt. Zion Memorial Fund in Mississippi and mentorship with blues pioneer TJ Wheeler, he shifted fully to country blues style. He is the first Nepali artist to feature with international merchandise, partnering with Wang Dang Doodle Tees in Illinois. He has been interviewed by Blues Radio International, Blues Matters Magazine, American Blues Scene, and other prestigious outlets worldwide.
