The Shadows Nepal is an iconic Nepalese supergroup founded in 1997 in Chitwan by lead guitarist Prakash Rasaily, Bikash on drums, Babu on guitar, Basanta on vocals, and Amit Pradhan on bass. They express socially conscious topics including humanity, corruption, nature, and beyond. Long before entering the studio, the band built a devoted following through electrifying live performances of original material. "Suna Hamro Sano Awaaz" with former vocalist Basanta became an early hit. "Hidne Manche Ladcha" introduced Swapnil Sharma as the band's new permanent vocalist. Their 2014 EP featured songs "Buddha," "Mounbrata," and "Aath din" that became masterpieces. The track "K Pais Nepali" pushed boundaries and expressed concern toward corruption and the justice system. With a legacy spanning nearly three decades, the current lineup of Swapnil Sharma, Prakash Rasaily, Amit Pradhan, Sahil Risal, and Sujan Manandhar continues to stand among the most respected rock acts in Nepal.
